Me: You can't wear that shirt it's not long enough to cover your belly.
Kiki: throws herself on the floor with a loud cry.
Me: Please change to a different shirt.
Kiki: (in a whining voice) I just wore this shirt last week and it was fine.
Me: You can not wear that shirt it does not cover your belly, please change.
Kiki: (still on the floor) No, it's fine it only shows a little of my belly.
I go to the closet pick out a different shirt, to which she throws another fight and declares that she is not wearing that shirt. I help her change her shirt then hand her her shoes.
Kiki: (throws herself on the floor once again) I hate those shoes, they are boy shoes, I'm not wearing them.
Me: They are not boy shoes, and you are wearing them.
So we proceed downstairs. Christy plops herself on the bottom stair and starts whining that she can't untie a double know.
Me: I will untie this one, you untie that one.
Christy picks up her designated shoe looks at it and throws it on the floor.
Me: You are not going to get breakfast at school if you don't hurry.
Kiki: You could just drive me.
Me: I am not driving you, it's not raining.
Kiki: It's your fault I'm late, why can't you drive me, you've done it before.
Me: If you miss breakfast it's because of your fit, I'm not driving because you choose to throw a fit.
Kiki: I'm telling my teacher how rude you are.
Me: oh ya, make sure you tell her that I made you change to a shirt that covers your belly and that I made you untie one of your shoes.
Kiki: I would tell the principal but she won't do anything.
Me: Please untie your shoes.
Kiki: I can't.
Me: You have to actually touch the shoe to untie it.
Finally she makes the effort and guess what, it took her less than ten seconds to untie her shoe. Amazing.
Finally we are out the door. We cross the street and....
Kiki: (whining voice) Where's my jacket?
Me: In the house.
At this point Christy has stopped, walking no further, mind you we are already running late because of the whole shirt and shoe thing. Christy has planted herself firmly on the sidewalk. I get behind her a give her a little push.
Kiki: I'm freezing (of course in a whining voice)
This morning was actually very nice, no fog or cloud cover for a change. If I had to guess I would say it's around 63 outside. Of course she was freezing, I am the meanest mom!
Sadly this was a mild morning compared to some we have.
